1. Hot spots? check out paradise cove, or north shore, island of Oahu not hot enough for you. check out teh other islands like Maui or teh Big Island.
2. Wow...never thought i would see this. Im a geology student in college and it turns out thats my point of interest, for high school i did a study for about 3 years and wrote a high school thesis on it, i know quite alot about it and would be way more than happy to awsner any of your questions, i eat sleep and breathe this stuff and i love every second of it. And if there is nothing i can awsner i have plently of interenet resource i can refer you to. Just ask me a specific question or i could go on for day, i cant posisble type enough about it, get back to me as soon as possible!
3. Assuming you're not talking about lava, it depends on the island you'll be on. Big island is pretty boring -- some cool stuff in Kona. Kuaii is totally boring. There are a bunch of pretty fun bars in Lahaina, otherwise Maui blows.
