do i need to have a service provider inorder to use wifi on my laptop? even though im in a wifi zone?

how will i connect to the internet if im in a wifi zone with my laptop?

1. No. Your computer will automatically pick up the signal if its not blocked by a password.
2. nope... all you need is an open wifi zone... if the zone is password protected, ask for it. but first, make sure your wireless card is working properly...
